No Appointment Necessary for Vet Care

We do not require your pet to have an appointment to be seen during regular office hours. Our only required appointments are for surgical procedures or extended diagnostic testing. Drop offs are encouraged, as it give our staff time to fully evaluate your pets medical issues and complete all necessary procedures that are indicated.

Types of Pets Seen

There are two veterinarians practicing at White Rock Animal Hospital, and we care for two types of pets:

  • Dogs
  • Cats

Open Hospital

White Rock Animal Hospital operates an open hospital. This means that our team welcomes owners to be with their animals during most medical procedures.

Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.

We are a referral partner with MedVet / Dallas. This 24 hour facility is located on Central Expressway, southwest access road between Forest and Northhaven. Their phone number is 972-994-9110. The hospital is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with trained ER Veterinarians, Critical Care/ICU staff, and multiple Specialty Veterinarians.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

Hospitalization

Many illness can be treated on an outpatient basis. However, some conditions require hospitalization to be successfully treated. Be assured that your pet will receive the most professional and thoughtful care possible while in our hospital.

Bathing

Bathing (medicated and flea baths) is available, along with dipping for fleas, ticks, and mange mites. Grooming is available on a limited basis.

Boarding

We offer specialized boarding for dogs and cats. We have separate, completely enclosed indoor kennels for dogs and cats, and inside runs. We are ready to care for your pets that have special needs while you are gone. Prescription diet feeding, medications, insulin/diabetes management, heart failure management can all be accommodated. We do not dismiss pets after hours or when the hospital is closed. For those pets who need only routine boarding and care, we can recommend several kennels that are close by to care for them. Most of these facilities are open 7 days a week for drop off and pickup.

Euthanasia

As veterinarians, we are dedicated to preserve the health and well-being of animals. Please do not ask us to terminate the life of an animal with a curable condition.

Payments

White Rock Animal Hospital accepts payment via cash, check, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. So that we can continue to provide you high quality service utilizing the best medical technologies, we request that payment be made at the time services are rendered. No billing is done through this office, unless prior arrangements have been made with the doctor or office manager.

Our fees are based on what we feel is a fair return for the time spent with you and your pet, the nature of the illness, drugs used and services rendered. We require a deposit on hospitalized patients. Unfortunately, this is necessary to reduce the number of pets abandoned each year at our hospital.

We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges.

Online Pharmacy

We recommend several diets, nutritional aids and other products we feel enhance the life of your pet, and treat several long term medical conditions such as arthritis, chronic skin diseases and behavioral issues. We strive to have all products and pharmaceuticals available at the hospital at all times, but we also have many of the products/prescriptions on our online pharmacy.

Continuing Education

Occasionally, we will be away from the hospital attending advanced courses in Veterinary Medicine to better serve you and your pet. We will arrange complete coverage by a veterinarian at our facility to insure our patients have access to medical and surgical services while we are gone.

Thank you for the confidence you have expressed by selecting us to care for your pet. It is our sincere hope that we can give you and your pet the personal attention you desire. We take pride in our hospital and will be happy to show you through the facilities. We hope our relationship will be a long and pleasant one for all of us.
